A Good Start
SARCOM 3 is off and running fast!
Prior to the end of last month, I took a break from everything, and helped my co-author of the SARCOM series, Peter Stanley to finish the outline for book 3, Sovereign Stars, Dark Alliances.
On 5/26/2026, I took that outline and started writing from it.
(That’s a Tuesday, by the way)
At the end of the week I had 16,352 words completed, somewhere around five chapters.
The following week, between Monday, 6/1/2026, and Saturday, 6/6/2026, I had added another 21,189 words. I felt pretty good about that level of progress, because it means I am back to form and averaging 15k words a week again, after hitting a real slump with book two and taking forever to finish it.
On June 8th, I took several days off of SARCOM 3 to bang out a fun short story because someone asked me to, and I felt honored to be asked to contribute to an upcoming anthology. I’ve only received invitations like that twice before. So I didn’t start back onto SARCOM 3 till Friday, 6/12/2026. By the time I stopped on Saturday, 6/13/2026, I’d added another 5,808 words.
For those of you keeping score, that means I’ve written 43,349 words in a new novel since March 26th, taking part of a week off from it for a almost 8k word short story. That is SMOKIN’ progress for me. I am pleased with it. As of this morning, the book is at 44,900 words, and will likely grow more tonight after I get home from the day job.
Why am I telling you this? Am I boasting? Okay, maybe a little, but the main point is that you are soon going to be able to get your hands on SARCOM Book 1, because as soon as I finish book three, we get the contract from the publisher, and production and rapid release of all three books begins. So GET READY FOR SOME ALIEN INVASION SPACE COAST GUARD GOODNESS!

The Anthromech Anthology is out in the wild from Chris Kennedy Publishing! So many good stories, each one designed to launch a brand new MILSF series! You cannot pass this up!
The Ruins Anthology Kickstarter should be sending out copies of that to the backers soon, and I hear there is going to be a public offering of an Ebook and paperback version, so stay tuned for that!
Tales of the E4 Mafia Volume 2 has escaped from base and is out wreaking havoc in the surrounding towns causing all the farmers to lock up their daughters. Seriously, this is Defiant House Entertainment’s first production, and it would tickle us to death if you snagged a copy and had a good time reading it.
If the Good Lord is willing and the creek don’t rise, I should have a sound booth to start recording Peter Stanley’s ASSET DENIED, which is out in Ebook format right now! This is Defiant House’s SECOND publication, and is worth your time if you like crime fiction and spy drama. Peter has really outdone himself with this and is hard at work on the sequel already!
Of course, The two Anthologies from RacPress I am in are still out there, so don’t forget to get copies for your very own of Insert Coin, and Crashed Landings!
